Housing Department – Notable case Michael Pieretti -v- London Borough of EnfieldBlavo and Co were instructed, on behalf of the Appellant, in this landmark case. Mr Pieretti the Appellant) on or around 14th May 2008 applied to the London Borough of Enfield for housing assistance. By way of the Respondent’s housing application form the Appellant disclosed that he and his wife had a disability and confirmed that he was disabled within the meaning of the Discrimination Disability Act. The Appellant’s application was refused.An appeal brought under s.204 of the Housing Act, on the 12th November 2009, was dismissed. Housing Department – Notable case Circle 33 Housing Trust Ltd –v- KathirkmanathanBlavo & Co acted on behalf of the Defendant in these proceedings. The Claimant’s landlords, Circle 33, issued injunction proceedings against the Defendant for alleged anti social behaviour and noise nuisance.
At the first instance the matter was agreed by undertakings. However months later the Claimant made an application for committal alleging further noise and a breach of the undertaking. The Defendant was subsequently sent to prison. Blavo and Co submitted an emergency application to the Court of Appeal. The Judge ordered the Defendant’s immediate release and furthermore declared committal proceedings had been unnecessary and premature…Read more

Immigration Team SuccessWell done Blavo and Co Immigration team for managing to have a client returned to the UK who had unlawfully been removed. Our client claimed asylum on the grounds of his social group in Albania. Despite having several wounds and suffering from a severe and recognisable mental illness, the claim was refused and certified as being manifestly unfounded.
Removal directions to Albania were set for 16.01.2012 at 16.25pm. Blavo and Co were instructed on the same day.
